Speech Evaluations

Our speech evaluations are comprehensive assessments designed to identify any speech and language difficulties in children. Individual Therapy Sessions

Feeding and Swallowing

Fluency/Stuttering

Apraxia of Speech

Our therapy approach for apraxia of speech involves intensive practice and repetition of motor planning and coordination exercises. By breaking down complex speech movements into smaller, manageable steps, we help children improve motor control and coordination for clearer speech production.

Hello, I'm Melissa Perkins M.S. CCC-SLP, a passionate bilingual Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) and the proud owner of Worth Every Word Bilingual Speech Therapy in Riverview, FL. I obtained my Master's in Speech-Language Pathology from Florida International University in 2015, where I cultivated a deep understanding of communication disorders. With a certification from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and specialized training from The Hanen Centre, The PROMPT Institute, and LSVT Global, I am committed to staying at the forefront of my field and delivering the highest quality of care to my clients. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with diverse populations, from pediatric to geriatric, in various settings including schools, hospitals, and private practices. 
 
My approach to therapy is holistic, client-centered, and rooted in evidence-based practice. I find immense joy in creating meaningful connections with the children and families I work with. It's not just about therapy sessions; it's about building trust, understanding individual needs, and fostering a supportive environment where communication flourishes.
 
One of my favorite approaches is incorporating preferred play activities into therapy sessions. I firmly believe that when children are having fun, they're more motivated to communicate and learn. Whether it's through games, imaginative play, or interactive exercises, I strive to make each session engaging and enjoyable.
